From The Scout Master - It has been another successful day in camp.  The mile swim practice crew got out early in the morning. The scouts are all fully engaged in their classes and camp activities.  We have had a few successful catch and release stories from the lake.  From an adult standpoint, the dining hall is less then perfect. Personally. I have been fighting a bit of Buritto's revenge today.   Tonight we had rain right during our flag ceremony. We had the scoutmaster cook off, scout master dinner and a scout skills competition.  Form a scout masters standpoint, it is great to see the boys is scout camp mode.  They have so much to do and a lot of unstructured time where they can take advantage of anything the camp has to offer.  The smiles are a mile wide on both the scouts and the big kids as well.

Hey All,

The ice cream Frank made was great. Since Mr. Rhodes isn't here, I had to eat three bowls to finish it off. Mark made the famous pork chops with stuffing, and it was great as usual. What you can cook at camp is unbelievable. Humidity is high, the creek is low and the boys are acting just like boys. Remember, think like a 12 year old!

Robert

Hi girls I miss you and love you! hope you had fun at the movies. love mom (crystal)

Dustin Harris- Hi mom and dad, I am having a great time at class my classes are good except some are a bit boring. I'm getting some great pictures in photography, and doing tons of stuff in my Eagle classes. The food is decent here, but not great. Also we have had rain, hence the name Rainey Mountain. We we're standing at flags when it started to rain more so they moved us inside to the dinning hall. The views around us are great with all the mountains, in photography we're supposed to be going to see a waterfall tomorrow. I can't wait for white water rafting on Thursday. Ok bye for now, love you. and

We have 16 scouts and 4 leaders trying to do the hike tonight.  They are suppose to call home from the top of the rock where cell service is the best if time permits.  The challenge is fitting everything in. We made a point to try to get the boys to call home tonight.  This is a bit of a challenge because you  have to stay at one spot which is a 1/2 mile from our tents and not move.  I am sorry to say we didn't have too many takers because the boys are just too busy having fun.   My burrito's revenge has subsided but I am sorry to report it has transferred to Mr. Ramsey.  Hopefully his will pass (no pun intended).  David Thomas is losing his voice a bit and we leaders are not sure this is a problem.  The weather was hot today but was dry so far.  Tonight we have a camp fire and will do the "Road Kill Blues" our trade mark song.  Tomorrow is a big day, mile swim for David Ramsey, Chance Riley. Mr Schmitt, and Mr. Carrier and white water rafting for all of us in the afternoon. Ms. Kollosch is representing the the troop in the leaders skeet shoot and is holding her own against a bunch of GA boys.  More tomorrow, please send cookies.

From the leaders- Another big day at  summer camp. The boys went to their classes this morning  and then we went white water rafting this afternoon. What a blast that was, Fast and very cold 45 degrees cold. Long 2 hour ride back but everyone had a great time. They will finish their classes tomorrow and we will be on the road home on Saturday. Another great year at camp.

Dustin Harris- Today was a fun day, after our first three classes we had to eat lunch quickly so that  we could set off to go white water rafting on the Nantahala river. The river itself was really chilling as the adults said-don't worry I still have my feet-and it wasn't all that bad. In my opinion we had a great time going down the rapids. Even though it doesn't compare to the New River it was still an amazing trip. We just got back about an hour ago and I'm feeling a bit tired, I can't wait to be in my own bed again. Also yesterday I went to Big Rock with another few scouts, it was a very long and mountainous hike, but I made it there and back. Ok I'm going to say good bye now, love you.

Jeffrey swindle- today i had to go to 3 of my classes and miss 2 of my favorite classes but its ok because i ended up going up and white water rafting so it is ok other then that i think i have made all my sacrifices to the camp gods i have cut my finger bit my tongue and it started bleeding and i accidently kneed a wasps nests so yah bye love you.
